Many obstacles are added to the path of immigrant women with a precarious immigration status when they want to leave their partner.
First, it often happens that the spouse uses this immigration status to maintain control over his victim. It is also important to know that several rights (social housing, access to employment, etc.) are closed to people with a precarious status. This can lead women to stay in a violent relationship or to return to a violent partner despite the physical and psychological dangers they face.
MFT staff help victims from different cultural communities, regardless of their status, by explaining to them the services they can benefit from.
